remembee
GCSE Physics · AQA or Edexcel

Physics that makes sense, one idea at a time.

Less cramming. More understanding.

Remembee teaches GCSE Physics through stories, everyday situations and clear, step-by-step explanations. It tackles the mistakes students commonly make, helping them understand how things work and apply that understanding to exam questions they haven’t seen before.

Built by a physics graduate, after helping his two daughters and his niece through GCSE Physics.

We’re inviting 20 families to try it. Use it and share your feedback, and your child gets free lifetime access*.

Separate physics or Combined Science. Typically Years 10–11, or whenever suits your timetable.

Try it two ways.

The same physics, as a story or straight. Pick one, then tap through a real lesson from the app.

Loop

Loop asks the questions

Loop asks what everyone is thinking and nobody wants to say out loud. Why does that actually happen? He keeps asking until the answer holds together.

Vi

Vi has the answers

Vi is older than time, and she is not a person. Only Loop can see her or talk to her, so he can ask her anything without feeling daft. She gives him the facts. He works out what they mean.

Loop asks, Vi answers, and Loop works it out in the open. You learn in the gap between her answer and his working.

Straight is the same lesson with no story: the law, the pattern, and why the pair never cancels. For revising, or when time is short.

What makes it different

Built around the mistakes students actually make.

A quick physics question

A car travels at a steady 30 mph in a straight line. What is the overall force on it?

The answer
What most students think

“There must be an overall forward force on it, or it would slow down. Push harder, and it goes faster.”

What’s actually true

At a steady speed the forces are balanced: the engine’s push just matches drag and friction, so the resultant force is zero. An unbalanced force doesn’t keep things moving. It changes how they move.

It feels right because pressing the pedal and going faster go together, and drag hides the rest. Research from the Institute of Physics finds it survives years of lessons. So Remembee’s Forces stories start from this idea and take it apart, and the end-of-module challenge checks whether it’s really gone.

Remembee draws on common misconceptions, examiner reports and mark schemes to build explanations that tackle the places students get stuck.

Common misconceptions

A library of the wrong ideas students most often hold, each paired with the right way to think about it.

Examiner reports

Where marks are lost year after year, from the people who mark the papers.

Mark schemes

What actually earns the marks, so explanations use the words examiners look for.

Why Remembee exists
I’m a Manchester University Physics graduate, but helping my two daughters and niece through GCSE Physics opened my eyes. They could memorise formulas and give the right answers, but did they really understand what was going on? When I started explaining physics through stories and everyday situations, I saw those moments when things finally clicked. Their confidence grew, and suddenly there was less to memorise because it all started to make sense.

Remembee is built to do the same for every student.

How it works

One idea at a time. Then check what sticks.

Each lesson teaches one idea. Your child reads it as a story or straight, checks what has stuck, and moves on. A coach keeps track, so they always know what to do next.

  1. 1

    Start in the right place

Your child tells the coach their exam board and what they’re studying. It suggests where to begin.

  2. 2

    Story or straight

The story version follows Loop and Vi. “Gimme It Straight” is the same physics with no story. They can switch any time.

  3. 3

    Check what’s stuck

A few quick questions, then they mark each idea as clear or not yet. Anything that isn’t clear comes back later.

  4. 4

    Challenges that find the gaps

A Legendary Challenge at the end of each module aims straight at the common wrong ideas, then shows what’s secure and what to go over next. A Boss Test at the end of each unit asks for written answers, marked by AI with feedback.

  5. 5

    A coach that remembers

Remembee keeps track of what your child has learned, where they’re struggling and what needs revisiting. It uses AI to recommend what to study next and to mark written answers with feedback. All the teaching content is edited, checked and verified by people.

What shaped the design

Recall, not re-reading

After each lesson, a few quick questions ask them to pull the idea back from memory. That effort is what helps it last.

Retrieval practice

Coming back later

Ideas that weren’t clear come back later, a little at a time, rather than all at once before the exam.

Spaced practice
Why stories? It will feel a bit odd at first.

That’s deliberate. Ideas stick when you can see why they work, not just what to memorise. And if a story isn’t for them that day, Straight is one tap away.

After each lesson

A quick check, and an honest look

Screens from the app as it is today, from the same lesson. It works on a phone, in the browser; there’s nothing to install.

The invitation

Help shape Remembee

20 families, 8 weeks, and your honest view.

  • Start as soon as you sign up, and use it for about 20 hours over 8 weeks, whenever suits you. We’ll look at how Remembee is being used.
  • GCSE Physics, AQA or Edexcel, separate physics or Combined Science.
  • Tell us what’s confusing or doesn’t work, as it happens. Just reply to the email.
  • Once your child has been using it, we’ll be in touch for a short questionnaire, and possibly a video call with a parent present.
  • If your child is under 16, we need your OK first, which is why we ask you to sign them up.
In return

Free lifetime access*

In return for using it and sharing feedback (a short questionnaire, and possibly a video call), one child in your household gets free lifetime access* to Remembee GCSE Physics.

  • No card and no ads.
  • No streaks, points or badges. Nothing nags them to come back.
